Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle Musigny Les Sentiers 2019

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers ler Cru has a well-defined bouquet of plump red fruit, hints of white pepper and Provencal herbs with, again, some assiduous use of whole bunch and new oak evident here. The palate is medium-bodied with a sharp, feisty entry. This involving Chambolle shows lively red fruit, spicier in style, with plenty of depth toward the finish, and yet it seems to fray at the seams in the glass, prompting me to lower my assessment. Plus, there's nagging lack of persistence on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
