Gerard Mugneret Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes 2020
|Region||France, Burgundy, Chambolle-Musigny|
The red fruit aromatic profile is enhanced by floral note nuances.
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru perhaps has the most elegant and refined nose that Pascale Mugneret has overseen this vintage, wilted rose petals and iris infusing the precise red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, very mineral-driven, the whole bunch imparting conspicuous pepper notes on the finish. Excellent.
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes is lovely, unwinding in the glass with aromas of rich red berry fruit, warm spices, orange rind and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, lively and incisive, with fine, powdery tannins and a mineral finish, it's firm and tightly wound but shows plenty of promise.
