Lucien Le Moine Gevrey Chambertin Lavaut St. Jacques 2015

SKU 1700

Mounir Saouma states that like Mazis-Chambertin, "Lavaut St Jacques" is tannic, with flavors of plum, chocolate and a meaty character as well. The vineyard has a clay and iron soil, lies in a cold streak, and sees a slow maturity. It opens with the savage, meaty qualities and with air becomes flowery and spicy, but sill wild. It is both a powerful and nervy wine.

Wine SpectatorExpressive and bursting with cherry, blueberry and spice notes, this red is suave and well-balanced. As this breaks into the component parts on the long aftertaste, the solid underlying structure emerges. In the end, this is succulent and savory, showing excellent potential. Best from 2023 through 2045. 5 cases imported.
