Domaine Jean Chartron Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Cailleret 2014

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

From this great terroir, nuances of lime tree and liquorice. While the oak is present in this young wine , it shows lovely ripened yellow fruit fragrances . The end of 2016 would be a good time to discover this wine.

Wine AdvocateTasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, Chartron's 2014 Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Cailleret had a very broody, slightly disjointed nose. The oak feels as if it is singing from a different hymn sheet than the fruit. The palate is quite malic and terse on the entry; sharp Granny Smith apples and a dash of spice, quite linear in style. It does not quite deliver the complexity I was hoping for on the bitter finish, yet there is sufficient nervosité locked into this wine to keep me coming back.
