Domaine-Jacques-Frédéric-Mugnier Nuits Saint Georges Clos de la Marechale 2015
|Appellation||Cote de Nuits|
Wine AdvocateFrédéric Mugnier meticulously assembled the five cuvées that combine to make the 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale, the famed monopole at the southern end of the appellation. It has a bright raspberry and cranberry-scented bouquet, just a hint of pomegranate in the background, lively and transparent. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin in the mouth. This seems to be a more structured Clos de Maréchale with a sappy and slightly compact finish. Give this 3-4 years in bottle if you can. It's one of those cuvées that I often find is being consumed too young, whereas it does repay bottle age.
