Domaine-Jacques-Frédéric-Mugnier Nuits Saint Georges Clos de la Marechale 2015 3L

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

Le Clos de la Marechale presents the frankness, uprightness and solidity of the Nuits-Saint-Georges wines, but without the austerity and rough tannins of the young wines from the central Nuits sector. These are wines that require a few years of aging before liberating themselves, but they develop a typical floral character tinged, it seems, with raspberry, iris and white lilac.

Wine AdvocateFrédéric Mugnier meticulously assembled the five cuvées that combine to make the 2015 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de la Maréchale, the famed monopole at the southern end of the appellation. It has a bright raspberry and cranberry-scented bouquet, just a hint of pomegranate in the background, lively and transparent. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin in the mouth. This seems to be a more structured Clos de Maréchale with a sappy and slightly compact finish. Give this 3-4 years in bottle if you can. It's one of those cuvées that I often find is being consumed too young, whereas it does repay bottle age.
