Domaine des Senechaux Chateauneuf du Pape 2013
|Region||France, Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape|
|Brand||Domaine des Senechaux|
Wine SpectatorShows some maturity already, with singed spice and gently mulled cherry, raspberry and plum fruit flavors, framed by light vanilla and cedar threads on the finish. Still has youthful flesh and depth, opening up beautifully in the glass to show a silky, perfumed persistence. Drink now through 2025. 4,500 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 ChÃÂâteauneuf du Pape is another impeccably made, pure, fruit forward and delicious beauty that gives up plenty of ProvenÃÂçal charm in its black raspberry, sweet cherry, crushed flower and ProvenÃÂçal-herb driven personality. This was made from 52% Grenache, 28% Syrah and 20% MourvÃÂèdre that was raised in a combination of concrete tanks (15%), foudre (50%) and barrel (35%), drink bottles through 2023.
Wine EnthusiastWhiffs of violets, freshly tilled earth and strawberries abound on the nose. This is a fleshy, voluptuous wine but vibrant black-cherry and berry flavors keep the palate fresh. Fine, ripe tannins accentuate a soft, delicate finish.
