Gracefully revealing the complexity of age, our 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve unfolds with layers of rich, highly extracted dark fruit flavors. The wine has elegance and balance from the outstanding 1991 vintage, with a firm tannin structure that assures continued development in the bottle. The perfectly articulated cassis, berry and spice character captures the personality of our To Kalon Vineyard in Napa Valley's Oakville region.

Wine AdvocateThis wine is just beginning to drink spectacularly well. The fabulous 1991 Reserve is the quintessential Napa Cabernet that represents a synthesis in style between the elegance of a first-growth Bordeaux and the ripe, intense, generous fruit of Napa Valley. It is just hitting its peak of maturity where it should remain for 10-20 years.

Wine SpectatorStriking, with a solid core of rich dark berry, currant and boysenberry flavors. Dense and powerful for a Mondavi Reserve. Still promising.-Robert Mondavi vertical (December 2015). Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 16,811 cases made.

Wine Enthusiast54% To Kalon. Showing good varietal character. Fresh, attractive. One of Genevieve Janssen's favorites. To me, on the first pour it was unyielding, tight, closed. After lots of time in the glass, became more forthcoming. Needs lots of decanting. Now-2016.
