Aubert Eastside Chardonnay 2014

Aubert Eastside Chardonnay 2014

SKU C032

The 2014 Eastside Chardonnay fully commends its unique and distinct terroir. The cobbly hillsides of Eastside, above the Russian River, promote intense concentration and minerality from vintage to vintage. Please note the greenish hue on the edge of the glass, which is indicative of the health of the wine. Primary aromatics of nectarines and lime juice deliver intense energy and precision for the vintage. Tightly wound, steely minerality and secondary nuances of fresh hay, tarragon, white pepper, and citrus blossom highlight the dynamic characteristics of the terroir. The 2014 Eastside has the acid backbone and definition to age for the next 10 to 15 years. The wine has a slight hazy clarity showing out commitment to minimal intervention winemaking.

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Chardonnay Eastside may also flirt with perfection. This wine is fashioned in the same style, but incredibly may be even more concentrated, intense and full. It is remarkable what Mark Aubert is doing so brilliantly with his winemaking program, and if readers haven't beaten a path to his door (or mailing list), it's about time, as these are some of the most complex and satisfying wines on Planet Earth.

Wine SpectatorYoung and vibrant, presenting a raw, edgy texture amid smoky, toasty oak, with fig, nectarine and citrus flavors woven throughout. Impressive for the long aftertaste. Drink now. 800 cases made.
