Mark Aubert graduated from St. Helena High and Fresno State with a degree in enology and a double minor in viticulture and chemistry. He then went on to work his way up to winemaker at Rutherford Hill, Monticello Cellars, Peter Michael, and Colgin, twice succeeding Helen Turley. Presently focusing on his own label with traditions deeply entrenched in Californian and Burgundian techniques, Mark has planted a 7 acre chardonnay vineyard on the Vine Hill appellation near Forestville-Sonoma, as well as another 6 acres of chardonnay and 1.5 acres of pinot noir at a vineyard down the street. In addition to Aubert Wines, Mark Aubert works with Bryant Family Vineyards.

Wine AdvocateThe 2010 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard boasts remarkable textural depth and finesse. Rich, round and seamless, the UV-SL is all about body and endless layers of flavor. An element of salinity gives a finish laced with white flowers and citrus of considerable freshness. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.

Wine SpectatorAn intense if weighty white, with baked apple, pie crust, spice and honeysuckle flavors. Both bold and vibrant, this is pithy, gaining richness with fig and honeydew melon flavors. Should gain. Best from 2013 through 2022. 708 cases made.
