Mark Aubert graduated from St. Helena High and Fresno State with a degree in enology and a double minor in viticulture and chemistry. He then went on to work his way up to winemaker at Rutherford Hill, Monticello Cellars, Peter Michael, and Colgin, twice succeeding Helen Turley. Presently focusing on his own label with traditions deeply entrenched in Californian and Burgundian techniques, Mark has planted a 7 acre chardonnay vineyard on the Vine Hill appellation near Forestville-Sonoma, as well as another 6 acres of chardonnay and 1.5 acres of pinot noir at a vineyard down the street. In addition to Aubert Wines, Mark Aubert works with Bryant Family Vineyards.

Wine AdvocateAubert's 2011 Pinot Noir UV-SL Vineyard is easily the most refined of the wines in this range of Pinots. Intensely perfumed and layered - but not at all heavy - the UV-SL has all its elements in perfect balance. Savory herbs, licorice, mint, plums and black cherries all come to life in the glass, but ultimately, the 2011 stands out most for its silkiness, grace and exceptional overall balance. Expressive floral notes add considerable freshness on the close. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2026.
