Turley Hayne Vineyard Zinfandel 1999
Possibly the quintessential Napa Valley Zinfandel, it is full-bodied, with glorious levels of blue, black and red fruits, floral notes, a full-bodied, seamless, opulent texture and stunning mouthfeel, without a trace of heaviness or heat. It is sensationally rich, beautifully pure, and a classic, world-class wine made from ancient vines that have been translated into a meticulously crafted wine. Drink it over the next decade. All told there are seven Zinfandels from Napa Valley, ranging from Atlas Peak in the south, to Howell Mountain in mid-valley, to the estate vineyard just north of St. Helena. As one might expect, all of these are remarkable Zinfandels.
