Domaine Méo-Camuzet Nuits St Georges Aux Murgers 2012
|Appellation||Cote de Nuits|
Wine AdvocateTasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Aux Murgers from Domaine Méo-Camuzet appears to be continuing its upward evolution. It has a beautiful, quixotic bouquet with pure Pinot Noir fruit: mineral-laced wild strawberry and raspberry fruit that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin, supremely well judged acidity and beautifully integrated oak that probably needs another year or two to be fully enmeshed. Otherwise, this constitutes a wonderful, Vosne-like, sensual Nuits Saint Georges that just seems to be getting better and better in bottle.
Wine SpectatorPure and focused, exhibiting raspberry and cherry flavors lightly accented by spice and mineral notes. Both delicate and firm, this features terrific balance and a lingering aftertaste of incense. Best from 2017 through 2030. 225 cases made.
