Wine SpectatorA sleeping giant. Slowly but surely explodes on the palate, with beautiful plum, blackberry and cherry character and hints of mineral. Full-bodied, with solid yet ripe tannins and a long finish. Best after 2006. 1,165 cases made.

Wine AdvocateThe 2000 Barbaresco Santo Stefano is unquestionably a highly appealing wine. A classic garnet with floral notes, anise, tobacco and wild cherries on the nose, its palate reveals sweet flavors of cinnamon, licorice, tar, and chocolate, a soft texture, and important length. Already approachable, and unusually up-front for a Barbaresco from this vineyard, it will easily last fifteen years.
